Launched in April 2025, The Care Circle Podcast by Motherhood Hospitals brought together 15+ clinicians, covering everything from pregnancy and fertility to children’s health and vaccinations offering clarity, compassion, and continuity at every step.
Our voices reached listeners across 11 states, with the strongest presence from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

A 42-year-old woman presented with severe heavy menstrual bleeding and profound anaemia, with her haemoglobin dropping to just 6 g/dL, requiring blood transfusions and iron injections. On evaluation, she was diagnosed with multiple large uterine fibroids, causing her uterus to enlarge to nearly 16 weeks in size—comparable to a four-month pregnancy.
Although she had completed her family, she strongly wished to preserve her uterus. This raised an important clinical question: Should only the fibroids be removed (myomectomy) to conserve the uterus, or should a laparoscopic hysterectomy be performed to remove the uterus completely?
The answer is never the same for every patient. Treatment for fibroids must be personalized, taking into account factors such as age, symptoms, severity of anaemia, completion of family, risk of recurrence, and most importantly, the patient’s preferences.

A woman with 74 uterine fibroids successfully underwent myomectomy (fibroid removal) while preserving her uterus. She wished to retain her fertility potential and maintain her natural menstrual cycle. After a detailed evaluation and counselling, a uterus-preserving approach was chosen based on her individual needs and preferences.
The patient was clearly informed that:
✅ Fibroids can recur.
✅ Heavy menstrual bleeding may persist in some cases.
✅ A hysterectomy may still be required in the future if symptoms return or recur.
